Top issues during term (6)(General)
City Manager Removal Process
Changes could affect severance and salary-payment exposure during a manager removal, and litigation risk from the deleted no-review clause.
Dayton International Airport ring road right-of-way acquisition
The holdout owner is asking four times the appraised value; if the case goes to court, a judge could set the price.
Regulating data centers before one arrives
A nine-month pause could delay some commercial development and the tax revenue it would bring.
city manager departure
Taxpayers could end up covering transition costs like an interim manager or a search for a replacement, but the source doesn’t say whether there’s a severance package.
city lawsuit
If the city wins, cleanup or redevelopment could protect nearby property values; if not, taxpayers may keep absorbing the cost of a blighted site.
property purchase
Taxpayer money paid for the building, and future costs or returns depend on what the city does with it next.
